Learn software development
from the ground up
Our full-time, in-person intensive program will first introduce you to the foundations of computer science, then allow you to specialize in what drives you. Our collaborative, project-based environment makes every student real-world-ready after graduating.

Foundations of Computer Science
The first three sprints of our program cover the foundations of computer science and software engineering. You will work with Linux, data structures, algorithms, low-level programming languages, high-level modern languages, databases, APIs, and DevOps. Achieve coding proficiency and boost your job prospects with our three-sprint program.
LEARN AS YOU WOULD IN THE WORKPLACE
No teachers, no lectures, hello mentors
Learn by doing
Project-based learning is a proven, alternative learning methodology to the traditional teacher-led lecture and memorization educational method.
Learn from others
Peer learning is an educational practice in which you interact with your fellow students to reach your educational goals. Coupled with project-based learning, you are encouraged to unleash your creativity and learn how to solve practical challenges by working as a team.
Learn how to learn
At Holberton, we don’t just teach you how to code or give the answers to the problems — in the real world, that’s not how it works. Instead, the intensive curriculum is designed around collaborative, project-based learning that trains you in the problem solving skills that will help you land a job, and the learning skills that will help you sustain your career.

About our Campus
We’re in New York City
Holberton School New York welcomes all metropolitan residents. The sessions take place on the Lebanese American University’s campus in midtown Manhattan.
Join a thriving tech scene
Although New York City is traditionally known as the finance capital of the world, its fast-growing tech ecosystem now surpasses the financial sector in number of jobs. The city is also a massive cultural hub with unparalleled ethnic and linguistic diversity.
New York is home to more than 25,000 startups, attracting more than 300,000 jobs — a $371 billion ecosystem that is second in value only to Silicon Valley. Large tech companies (such as Google, Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, Salesforce, Square, Slack, Adobe, IBM, BetterCloud, 2U, and many others) also have a strong presence here.
APPLYING TO HOLBERTON
Anyone in NY metro area can join
The only prerequisite is your ability to attend daily sessions at our midtown Manhattan location — and your eagerness to start coding! Application is free.
The process consists of a series of small and fun challenges for you to complete. Besides helping you see if Holberton is for you, this process gives you a taste of the learning experience. If you can make it through, you’ll be ready to start your journey toward becoming an outstanding software engineer.
